Hi all,
For those participating in the "Slam Challenge" pease place your French Open picks here. If you don't know what I'm talking about, or want a refresher on the rules, or want to see the point totals so far, look here.

You can make your picks and change them up until the first match of the tournament (that means qualifiers), which I believe is on May 26. Obviously you'll want to make adjustments or wait until the draw is out.

I'll make mine just to get the party started. Probably will change them as I go along!

W - Rafa Nadal
F - Roger Federer
SF - Novak Djokovic, David Ferrer
Dark Horse - Tomas Berdych
Wildcard - Tommy Haas

Remember, the Dark Horse can't be one of the Big Four (who now, once again, match up with the 1-4 rankings), and the Wildcard can't be in the Top 10.

Dude: I reread the rules, but I can't remember: am I limited to the number of times I can pick certain players?

I think we'll all want to reassess when the draw comes out, esp. given that Nadal will be in the #4 position, and we'll want to see where he lands. Also, JMDP is pending. (Note - Riotbeard.)

But I'll play now, for fun:

W - Rafael Nadal
F - Novak Djokovic
SF - Roger Federer, Jo Wilfried Tsonga
Dark Horse - David Ferrer (Is he too highly ranked?)
Wildcard - Tommy Haas

Moxie, no - you aren't limited in the number of times that you can pick certain players. Also, Ferrer is fine for the Dark Horse no matter what his ranking. The Dark Horse basically can be anyone other than the Big Four, and isn't ranking dependent. I instituted that because no matter what the rankings, there's that big gap between them and everyone else in terms of likelihood to win a Slam.

So:
Dark Horse - anyone other than Djokovic, Nadal, Federer, and Murray
Wildcard - anyone not ranked in the top 10

Thanks, Dude. I realize I was conflating your rules with the old Fantasy Tennis two websites ago. Now I got it.

Wow, bold predictions there, shawnbm. I can see Novak upsetting Rafa in the SF, but that would mean Ferrer beating Federer which is hard to imagine.

Wow, amazing how the draw changes things. Better go kick Novak out of the Final.

Mog, you can only have one wild card. If you don't change it I'll assume the first name - Jerzy - is your choice.

That's a big call brother.

Trying to jinx it. Everytime I picked Djokovic in the masters draw challenge he lost, so hoping for the same results here. Plus, the worst possible outcome would become a bit more bareble by winning this draw challenge here. I do think Ferrer has a good shot at reaching the semis and possbly the final though.

Spain's new hope. He finished 2012 outside of the top 700, now he's about to enter the top 150, won seven future tourneys in a row and managed to beat Serra, Andujar, Haase, Benneteau, Goffin, Fognini and lost in three to Wawrinka in the semis of Estoril. He breezed through the French Open qualifiers. You might never hear anything from the guy again or he could be the new rising star such as Nadal was in 2004. Who really knows. I'm desperate for new rising stars. :D He deserves a honorable mention at least.
