Singer and businesswoman Dolly Parton, who died earlier this week, had a slew of projects in the pipeline including a biopic, documentary, avatar show, museum, travel stop for truckers, coffee brand and dog treats.

"Dolly worked up until the day she died. She loved seeing her dreams come to life and loved knowing her work brought people joy," her longtime manager Danny Nozell told US media including Hollywood Reporter.

"If you see unreleased music, products, books, experiences and campaigns launched through official Dolly Parton channels, you can have confidence in knowing that she placed her personal stamp on it," he added.

Parton died peacefully in hospital in Nashville on 25 August after a "brief battle with cancer", after being admitted four days before her death with kidney and autoimmune issues.

If you were around in the 1960's then you'd know Shelley was very much the "It" Girl. But, over time, she was unfairly labelled Elvis' co-star. In her own right was a successful singer and actress.

I tried giving Walters the benefit of the doubt regarding her journalistic “style” of questions & trying to see if she was as blunt & direct with her male interviewees and…yes she could be at times.

However having said that, her style has dated badly and IMO her bias bled out in that interview with Dolly. Sitting in moral judgement of a marriage that actually seemed to work (Dolly/Carl) especially a fellow career woman, as you posted, that was just vile & mean spirited.

i didn’t realize Dolly spent so much time relatively close to me here in California. For years she had a house in Solvang, a quasi-“Danish village “ tourist stop, and would visit regularly the Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo right on highway 101. Think of a hotel with different theme rooms….honeymooners used to flock to it.

You have to be of a certain age to understand these are both iconic “roadtrip” destinations for baby boomers. No influencers back then, just loving a place and revisiting it through the years. They were “kitschy” before it was ironically cool , and I love her for embracing them.

Doesn't seem fair that for all the goodness she's brought to this world, and for decades, that she should leave this world taken by Cancer.


Now, In Australia we have John FARNHAM - who's every bit as iconic a singer as Dolly Parton.
John, who is alive, but a few years ago was forced to retire, he cannot sing ever again because of mouth cancer.

It was recently announced that there's going to be a concert in John's honor.
