Two Czech players go for their first slam title. Will the seasoned vet seize the moment or will it be a former prodigy fulfilling a promise for the second straight slam?

A great stat in the Open Era ( started 1968)
10 times Czech woman made the Wimbledon Ladies Final.Mandlikova, Krejcivkova, Novotona, Plsikova, Kvitova, Vondrousova
In the last 6 years, there have been 3 for 2 wins
We have a historic first time Ladies final between Czech players Muchova v Noskova
Nine different champions in the last Nine Wimbledon's
The current WTA Tour knows neither dynasties nor anything resembling a Big Three.
Saturday's day Wimbledon Final will produce the 11th first time GS champion since 2020!

The Tennis Gods could not have scripted a final with a historic outcome between 2 Czech players both making the final at Wimbledon for the very first time!

Location
Gold Coast, Australia
I wasn't expecting either of them to make it here. Going with Noskova in 3, although my predictions have been so bad the opposite is more likely.

BTW
Muchova leads their H2H 1-0 ( that was at the USO in 2025)
This will be their first meeting on grass

I would like to shout out to Sven Groeneveld who Muchova hired at the start of the year he has been a massive difference maker for Muchova in 2026, acting the catalyst for the most successful and consistent of her career.
After battling years of severe injury set backs, her decision to hire the veteran Dutch coach has completely revitalised her game

The difference to me was that Noskova was the most aggressive player on the court in the semis. Muchova and Gauff were really tight.

Noskova is on a roll, and I think she takes this one in straights.

Muchova in 2 if she doesn’t Jabeur it…
I still think Jabeur had nothing left in the tank that day against Vondrousova. Jabeur had to play 2 hard fought 3-set matches beforehand, against Rybakina and Sabalenka, on back-to-back days. Vondrousova had a much easier path, and played Tuesday/Thursday.

I still think that was unfair that she had to face the 3-seed and 2-seed back-to-back, as the defending runner-up and 6-seed. They were trying to give Iga the title that year. Look at how easy that path was, and she still somehow blew it!

AF LOL! we all know Jabeur placed Too Much Pressure on herself to win Wimbledon, she came unstuck mentally quite frankly it was sad to watch her unravel like she did

I have picked Muchova as my dark horse from day 1 and I am not going to change now
Muchova as you know has the ability to disrupt big strikers of the ball, eg her match against Osaka
No one on the tour or plays the game like Muchova
I just love watching her play!
Muchova has also been to hell and back with time off the tour with injuries as well.

BTW,
Ons Jabeur and her husband welcomed their first child in April this year, a baby boy, named Elyan Kammouna.
As far as I know Ons has every intention to return to the WTA tour

This is a fun fact,

Muchova and Noskova paired up at the Paris OIympics 2025, , they reached the womens doubles SFs, but missed out on the podium after falling to Spain in the bronze medal match, ultimately finishing in 4th place.

Traditionally a member of the British Royal Family presents the trophies for the Ladies Singles Final
The Princess of Wales in recent years presents the Venus Rosewater dish to the ladies singles winner and the runner up receives a smaller designed silver salver

It's a little annoying the start time has been moved from the traditional 2pm to 4pm.
did they give a reason? Other than trying to ride the coat tails of the World Cup by tapping into the audience that will be slowly building up...

The chair umpire for Ladies Singles Final is Robert Balmforth from England, Gold Badge Umpire since 2005. He began officiating in 2005 and first worked Wimbledon in 2006. This is his 20th appearance at the Championships.

Baron,
Apparently the reason given from changing its traditional 2pm start time to 4pm is to capture a larger worldwide television audience. Pushing the matches back allows more international viewers to tune in during prime evening in Europe and late morning in the USA ( of course the time still sucks for us living in Australia :)
