Hard to believe Fery is in the semis.
And we really can't call it a fluke. He played 6 sets against Cobolli, in the Australian Open and Wimbledon, and won them all. Zverev (Fery's opponent in the Wimbledon semifinal and the only other player to beat Cobolli in a slam this year), needed all 5 sets to beat Cobolli in the French Open final.

My heart wants Fery (he shares a birthday with me, and could win Wimbledon on his birthday), but my head says Zverev. I will go with Zverev in 4.

Heart says Fery, but my head says Zverev. I have never seen Zverev play at this level. He even has better odds (+350) than Djokovic (+700) to win Wimbledon. This is Zverev's worst slam and arguably Djokovic's best slam.

I still think the play is Djokovic +700 to win Wimbledon. That almost feels like a steal, like when Nadal got those odds to win the 2022 French Open after the FAA match.

I have Zed over Rudy in straight sets or 4sets..Zed is focused

This is a Wimbledon Fery Tale ...............mind the pun :)
Zed was lucky he got to the SF for starers as Fritz who owns him in their H2H, if people were watching this match, Fritz knee started to play up, and his movement was clearly compromised, Fritz had been playing soo well coming into Wimbledon as well and his knee started to play up at the wrong time, I had picked Fritz to win their QF match against Zed, most people did.
Wow this Q who dares, his name is Fery has a game that can undo strong hitters, has very good movement around the court, volley etc
Can he do what Goran Invanisevoc at Wimbledon in 2001where he was a wild card and make the Wimbledon Final and won?
That would be the Wimbledon Fery Tale!

BTW,
Fery had a nose cautery - a minor procedure where a doctor seals off blood vessels using a chemical swab - to stop his frequent nosebleeds
Fery sought the treatment shortly after his win against Zizour Bergs and has not experienced the issue since

The astonishing thing with Fery is that he's 23 and has played less than 20 matches on the ATP tour and yet sits in a Wimbledon semi-final. According to the ATP site, his career record is 11-8. He was 6-8 coming into Wimbledon. Amazing stuff.
Also he took out Cobolli in the 1st round at the AO this year and again defeated Cobolli in straight sets in their QF match to make the SFs

I want to pick the Ferytale just so I don't see Zed in another Final. He was so bad in the parts of RG that I saw, but realistically I don't see how he loses to a WC. Dude would have to throw the kitchen sink at Zed and even then it's still probably not enough.

Fritz and his knee again played up at the wrong time Keli, he was compromised sad to say, he was playing good grass court tennis up to the QF

It's called being "in the zone" at the right time! There's nothing like that feeling when "absolutely everything" is working! I won a tourn. as a "B" player only b/c of luck not skill! Mark Edmonson supposedly won his AO in '76 w/ just a handful of match play w/ even fewer wins! He defeated Newcombe IIRC! I wouldn't be surprised if Sascha has a vapor-lock due to expectations & the crowd going nutz for Fery! :astonished-face::yawningface::fearful-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth:

By British Press Standards, Fery is playing for a nationality. If he loses - he's French. If he wins - he's British.

Zverev at least seems to play better than in the past after winning his first slam. Him in the past wouldn't have beaten Taylor Fritz easily in straight even if Fritz injured midway in the match. I actually picked Fritz to win that match due to their past record.

Yep, got the albatross off his back. I always thought if Zed could win one, he'd win more.

The commies have billed this as the Zed serve v Fery ROS. Totally disagree. Fery is going to get so few chances at Zed's serve. Fery's bigger battle is protecting his own serve.
