Felix played a horrible tbr after playing a fantastic 4th set tbr..I cant call it. the better player won..
Like I said, this same movie keeps repeating. I couldn't believe how many routine shots he missed in that TB. Basically out of 3 TB's he only played 1 like a boss. The first set and final set were littered w/ errors.

Just watched the deciding breaker. Ok, the two players were tired, but... c'mon, the level was abysmal. No offense, no creativity, and still a lot of UFEs.
Me too. Just watched that TB and they were just pushing the ball. FAA donated so many points. Meh.

Felix has decided to do what in the bold above and is back into this match.. Show him sum luv @El Dude
Nope. He's just not a champion, as he's shown time and time again. I really thought he'd at least take down a Masters title or two, but he's got that limp-dick Gasquet quality.

He battled the Great Serbian Slayer for 5 and 1/4 hours.. 5 sets and lost because of one poorly play tbr.. I dont know what else you want him do.. FAA played a classic fantastic match. Richie G could never have came close to that level

To me, the difference is that Novak struggled against FAA, whereas Jannik struggled against Kecmanovic. Novak has been battle tested (not only this year, but throughout the years), while Jannik has basically played a 125 challenger en route to the semis. Just look at all the names Novak has beaten at Wimbledon since 2011.

Unless Novak shows up hurt, I believe he beats Jannik at Wimbledon.

You have a lot of faith in your man, but I don't see it that way. He will feel that 5 hr encounter on Friday. And let's not talk about easy draws. Djoke's had his share over the years. Red has not performed well in the slams this year. He'll want to redeem himself before Chuck makes his return.

Jannik can take it the level to match Novak's consistency and shot making.. @kskate2 what was you assessment of the match.. I am getting the feeling that most of out posters are saying it was the same ole Felix.. I think Felix forced Novak to go to limits.. Yes Felix could have played smarter on his return of service which is really what cause him. He let Novak off the hook and was able to play his game. Felix made some great counters in the 4th and 5th set but the 5th set tbr was a complete braindump of a disaster

I didn't see the whole match but most definitely saw all the TB's. FAA played well enough to keep Djoke out there for 5 hours. Did he muff some of the big points in the TB's? Yes. The first set was rightfully his. Had several SP's and blew each one on poor shot selection or an UE. The final set TB was poor form by both players. After having played the 4th set TB so well, it's completely unexpected that an hour later his form would fall off the cliff so terribly. Likely mental, but nothing to be done about it now. Learn and move on. Must capitalize on opportunities or they'll stop presenting themselves.

That's how Novak wins! His basic game is good enuf to get thru most players, but for the elites he has to do a little more! He still depends on his opponent having "brain farts" at critical times! His losses usually aren't attributed to him; more about him being served off the court by a "Mensik" or "Draper," then in Paris, Fonseca just didn't give in, taking their match in 5 sets (I didn't see it)! Djokovic's known for his "ROS," but there are some big servers with pinpoint accurance & power that even he can't overcome! If Sinner serves well, he has a better chance at winning, but if not, we all know how much pressure Djokovic can generate at the beginning of a point just making you work! :astonished-face::yawningface::fearful-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth:

Cobolli is still playing like " Ok, let's see what this kid can do..." Dude, the kid is at the quarterfinals and took the first set from you already ! Wake the F up and start initiating things as opposed to just reacting ! Jeez !
