It is a very interesting analisys. A lof of good points to discuss. But, just to give context, the article cites Brazil twice, regarding diesel fuel. The prices did went up, the government indeed did interveene to atenuate it, but there is no shortage of fuel, and the prices are stable. It *seems* there is no crisis in the short term horizon, so the situation on the ground is less critical than what one could infeer from the article.

This Graham Platner thing.. the rape allegation. I don't know whether it's true or not, but I will say it's frustrating to hear these things come up when someone enters the public sphere. The guy is innocent until proven guilty but he's effectively toast. What happens if it turns out that he was actually innocent in the end? Nothing I guess... except a destroyed political career.

Dude....this guy has a million things against him already that disqualifies him as a HUMAN BEING, let alone run for any office. The left has this vague notion of Nazisim and throw the word around like nothing, but when they see a guy with an actual Nazi SS tattoo, they line up to suck his balls. I don't get it.

A person's resume, reputation, or criminal history doesn't seem to matter when it comes Republicans! Why is it turned around on Democrats to be the moral police; being totally suckered by idiot consevatives? I'm going to stop shooting myself in the foot & head at the behest of right-wing pyschos who are faced w/ daily instances of malfeasence by their fearless leader! Trump & his whole family have profitted financially while he's been in office! They're using the Fed Gov't as their personal grift & since it goes on so routinely, it's no big deal! We're accused of having Trump derangement syndrome as he rants about Biden & Obama incessently every single day! He's the president & hasn't taken responsibility for anything! It makes my head hurt & hands shake as half this country appears to be delusional AF! I can explain my side of things; rationally they can not! I heard there were multiple allegations. Frankly it sounds like something went wrong with the vetting process. Be that as it may, why do these allegations only come out when the person enters the public sphere? That's the issue I have with this. As far as I'm concerned it's just as important for the little/unknown guy not to be a bad actor. If the accusers are willing to come out when this dude enters the public sphere then what does that say about modern culture? It's disturbing to me. If they had stepped up earlier this wouldn't even be an issue, he would never have been platformed at all. I struggle to understand why these reports come out when he becomes a public figure, it contradicts the idea that victims don't want the publicity. I'm not for a second defending the guy, if he's guilty. I'm just saying that priorities in society are so twisted these days. No sense of civic duty or purpose.

And to be clear, this is not an issue of left or right to me. As must be clear from my posts, I'm not sure I could be considered a Democrat or a Republican by American standards.
