Well played 1. set - not too much wrong. Second set Jas made quite a few errors that brought Eala into the match as there were no dip in her play and she discovered Jas faults and used it - in an even set, they played some good tennis both of them. Pas almost came back playwise after a relative faulty period. Third set was Pas back on her game again and in the end Eala had no weapons. But as the speaker said - it was one of the best matches played this year. And Eala is a player we will see develop into something big.
Agreed it was one of the best matches this year.. I thought Eala threw everything at her but the kitchen sink.. Jas hit some fantastic down the line FHs.. I thought Eala played fantastic .. change the pace of the ball and moved well with the leg wrapping. I think if these two meet again, its definitely must see tv.. High Quality match.. I think Eala applied so much pressure which made Jas go for more on her strokes.. I dont recall Jas as playing this aggressively.. If she played like today when she made the two GS finals , she would be a champion.

The battle of the two tennis Barbie’s Ks.. who ya got..it’s definitely big babe tennis ..Marta has an amazing body..sorta of a Mary Pierce shape..
sorry, I wasn't up early enough to see Marta, but I would've picked her. Ashlyn is a Q. She did good to make it R4. Now let's see if Jaz can keep her clean H2H on Marta. I'd like to see her get to the SF and face Noskova who she can force into a bunch of errors.

It was competitive match . Marta stayed the aggressor for the entire match.. If they play against each other next week ..American Barbie may win that match

She did play this aggressively to reach the finals of those slams, but got tight in the finals. In RG, Iga smelled blood and she got smoked in straights. Against Babs at Wimbo, she absolutely had chances as that one went to a decider. Again, I think she got tight and didn't serve as well giving Babs easy looks at returns

I hope so too. She definitely learned from playing Eala. She lost to her earlier in Dubai.
I think Sara and team will keep her focused but grounded vs Marta..Marta is an athletic wonder who will try to hit through Lil Jasmine.. I think when Jasmine changes the pace of the ball, she can bait Marta to over hit to produce some UFEs but its not a guarantee. The Ukrainian is on a mission and we all know its about whats going on her life. I expect it to go the distance and for me its really a toss up..Jas has got to serve well to stay with her and Marta has got to control the center of the court or Jas will pick her apart. That's all I know about these two players.

Trying to watch Gauff/Pegula, but it's hard! It's just been 2-3 games & Coco's already trying to psyche herself up into a new level! Where can you go when the going gets really tough? I've never cared for that kind of gamesmanship on either the men or women's tour! It started in the mid 80's and has gotten progressively worse elevating into "banshee screaming!" :angry-face::yawningface::fearful-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth:

I really think its her nerves. You know how it is you get the nervous willies before a match.. You have to see a few serves go into the box or hit about ten balls in a row before you really get the feel of the ball coming off your strings of the racket face.. That's the way I see it.

Coco going the distance again. We'll see if she can outlast Jess
Coco is one of the best problem solving in the GS in the final set.. I am proud how she flipped this match.. As I mentioned with @Fiero425 earlier.. I think its her nerves.. she is not a front runner.. Boris Becker was like that somewhat.. slow starter.. but not bad as CoCo

I agree w/ that. Emma Navarro is a bit like Coco in that regard. Sometimes, it takes her a set to figure out how to play somebody. Before she fell off the map late last year, she had an amazing winning % in 3 set matches. Some of those against Coco.

Its amazing if you think about the contrast between Osaka and Keys.. When Keys made that awful final vs Sloane .. Madison was a few levels above Naomi as for a player development. I think Naomi had some teenage baby fat on her body but she really developed her game in less than 2 years.. Keys has been up and down.. I am not sure Maddy will be a HOFer with just one GS title..

She is American! That'll help! I may not see it, but she might! :fearful-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth::astonished-face::clap:
