i am starting to get sick of Mrs Monfils... the girl Anna the Beautiful Kalinskaya was in medical distress and had to retire.. Elina could have went to check in on her opponent.. Grandma said , Son God dont like UGLY.
I didnt see the match just read that Anna had retired
BTW Anna has had soo many MTO or retirements in her matches, the girl is kind of made of glass

Interesting that Serena returned on the right side with Mboko but she is playing left side with Muchova
She always played on the right side with Venus so this is kind of a new experience for her.
Serena and Karolina lost the 1st set 64 and are down a break in the 2nd set 3-4
Routliffe/Olmos d Williams/Muchova 64 64
BTW Erin Routliffe played much better today than the last time she played Serena, and her Olmos as well. These 2 are well established doubles players playing the doubles tour full time

I dont know if Serena will play another tournament before Wimbledon, she could ask for a WC in the last couple of tournaments before Wimbledon for more match time either at Bad Hombourg or Eastbourne.

Matches for Wednesday June 17th,

Vekic vs WC Eala
Pegula (3) vs Siniakova
Badosa WC vs Gauff (5)
Sabalenka (1) vs Alexandrova, lets see if that psychiatrist Saba saw after her mental break down at RG has helped her at all?
Mertens vs WC Bartunkova

MM, Let me see if I can address this.. the stronger returner or the better player usually plays the ad(advantage) side of the court.

Yep, I am a strong returner I always play the ad side of the court, of course my hubby Peter is a reason why he dosent want to cover me :)
My point was Serena always played on the right side of Venus that is all, the first thing I noticed with this new pairing

When she starts her baby making years, her suitors are gonna be multi-millionaires. My Lord, she is a good looking woman!

Coco's game has regressed since she won RG last year.. I thought she would at least have a Venus type of career. It turning more into a Sloane's type of career. Hey I dont watch the WTA as much as some of you folks.. just my 30,000 feet level view

Well Coco has 2 GS titles, Sloane has 1, this year Coco's game has been all over the place sad to say, her fhand still can go off, and the serve is still another part of her game that in some ways has not got better, at present AP to me, it is the ball toss, a lot of the time her serve finds the net, because of the ball toss, I should sent her to the Serena Williams Ball Toss Academy :)

Coco is a much better player than Sloane who NEVER got better after she won the US Open and made the finals of RG.

For sure, still Coco should have not lost to Badosa whose ranking is now #142 and relies on wild cards to get into tournaments, though Badosa does lead their H2H 5-3? after her win today, also Badosa was on a 5 match losing streak before today? though to be fair to Badosa she played her best tennis in ages against Coco today.
If I was Coco I would ask for a WC into Bad Hombourg or Eastbourne tournament she needs match play on grass

Match results,
Wednesday 17th June,

WC Eala d Vekic 75 64, Vekic who just won Queens tournament and played great grass court tennis came in as a LL, looked fatiqued in her match today, which is understandable

WC Badosa, who was on a 5 match losing streak coming into Berlin did play her best tennis in ages and defeated Gauff 16 63 62
Pegula d Siniakova 62 64
WC Bartunkova d Mertens 61 64
Sabalenka d Alexandrova 64 64

A tight first set between Saba v Alexandrova but Saba gets a break and will serve for the 1st set 5-4 and with good 1st serving Sabalenka wins the 1st set 64
Saba gets aother break early in the 2nd set, question is can she hold onto it this time?
A tough hold for Sabalenka she leads 4-2
Sabalenka will now serve for the match at 5-4, considering this is her first match on grass, okay, her serve as usual helped out when needed
A love service game from Sabalenka d Alexandrova 64 64
