The Boss Open

The BOSS Open marks the start of the ATP Tour’s European grass-court season and is one of the most important early indicators ahead of Wimbledon. Held annually in June, the tournament provides players with a vital opportunity to adapt from clay to grass — a transition that demands sharper movement, quicker reactions, and confident serving.

Staged at the historic TC Weissenhof, the BOSS Open blends tradition with modern presentation. The venue, perched on a hillside overlooking the city, offers a scenic and intimate grass-court setting. Its centre court, surrounded by lush greenery, creates a classic summer tennis atmosphere that feels distinctly European.

Originally founded as a clay event in 1916, the tournament switched to grass in 2015, strengthening Germany’s presence on the pre-Wimbledon calendar. The fast lawns reward big serves, attacking play, and players willing to take the initiative — often producing tight, high-quality matches between established stars and grass-court specialists.

Compact yet prestigious, the BOSS Open serves as both a technical proving ground and a stylish opening chapter to the grass season.

Stuttgart

Stuttgart, the capital of the German state of Baden-Württemberg, is a city shaped by innovation, industry, and rolling vineyards. Known globally as the home of automotive giants such as Mercedes-Benz and Porsche, Stuttgart combines engineering excellence with a surprisingly green and scenic landscape.

Unlike many major European cities, Stuttgart is built across hills and valleys, with vineyards stretching almost into the city centre. The elegant Schlossplatz square forms the heart of the city, while modern landmarks like the Mercedes-Benz Museum reflect its industrial heritage.

Stuttgart also boasts a strong cultural identity, with renowned opera, ballet, and theatre institutions, as well as a lively café culture during the warmer months. In early summer, as the grass courts come to life, the city provides a refined yet relaxed backdrop for elite tennis.

Blending tradition, technology, and natural beauty, Stuttgart offers a fitting stage for the BOSS Open — where the grass-court season begins in style.

Fritz wins 67(5) 75 76(3) v Martin Landulace, he wins the first match back of his comeback from a set down and a break down, a couple of key UFE for Landulace on his serve in the TB the difference, Fritz serve really well.

Since no one's posting on Stuttgart, Shelton's making his job rather difficult again by dropping another early Rd. 1st set! This time to Shimabukuro! Who? Fritz is also struggling as he's being "pushed to the limit" by players outside the top 100! Tiafoe KO'd by Lehečka! :astonished-face::yawningface::fearful-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth:

Really apparently you missed my posts above as usual
Shelton's level is sub par presently and he was lucky not to have gone out in his first round match against Giron
Matches suspended due to darkness

Cry me a river he is not the only player
Maybe this will make Shelton get better focus in his matches having to play back to back matches, he can count himself lucky he is still in the draw
