I'll be the first to admit that I was wrong about Zverev's mental foritude. I didn't think he would get through this group of next, next genners. I even thought this would be the same old for Zverev when he went down 2-5 in the first set to Jodar. Not only did Zverev he make the right adjustments in his quarterfinal, he passed his semifinal test with flying colors. Zverev did not look like a mental midget during the last 2 matches. I now believe this is Zverev's moment, and he will win his first slam title in 4 sets.

Zverev leads their H2H 3-1
Though on clay this year they have won a tournament each this year
Zverev in Madrid and Cobolli in Munich

Alexandra Zverev's last six losses have been to Italian players?
He has lost to Sinner 4 times
Cobolli 1 time
Darderi 1 time

Please Zverev has had as Soft Draw? he hasnt/wont meet a Top Ten player all tournament...if he cant win with this soft draw he wont be winning another one in the future! especially with Alcaraz out injured and Sinner shock loss early in the tournament:)

Zverev in three. He'll stay locked in, maybe Cobolli takes him to tiebreak in the 1st or 2nd set, then Germany steamrolls Italy in the third.

Sorry, Margaret.

No worries if Zverev cant win with this soft draw of not meeting a Top Ten player all tournament! he wont be able to win another GS title in the future

Absolutely agree.

And even if he wins, I don't think he wins another. Sinner should be in at Wimbledon, and Alcaraz joining him at the US Open...I just think that any confidence Zverev gains from (hypothetically) winning RG against Cobolli won't hold against Sincaraz.

But tomorrow still needs to be played. Who knows, maybe Cobolli can pull it out. He'd be the worst player to win a Slam since Gaston Gaudio in 2004, unless he ends up piling on some numbers to pass Cilic and Thiem.

I am proud of Cobolli and sad for Matteo who had to withdraw due to a bad virus, , who I frankly gave up upon a long time ago, Matteo impressed me with his grit and grind at RG this year.
Cobbolli has a good, solid game, but playing in his first GS final, this is a different ball game all together, great experience for him anyway

Regardless of the outcome against Zverev, Cobolli currently up 4 places to No 10 in the ATP Live ranking, Cobolli has already secured the biggest rankings of his breakthrough of his career.
