I get that for sure. And hopefully you don’t consider my thoughts on the last season to be a spoiler. The Boys isn’t for everyone, especially not for every dame haha. My missus was horrified by the first episode and judged me for liking the show!

For Game of Thrones, to me the last season, as disappointing as it was, didn’t spoil the show overall. It had 73 episodes and for over 90% it was just phenomenal. It does seem like a lot of shows end poorly so extra props to those like Breaking Bad and the Wire which ended very well.
Good stuff! Mad Men is an underrated show, that ended strongly too. Can you believe I’ve never seen Breaking Bad either? I think cos the missus is squeamish about drugs shows. Dunno, but it’s among the highest rated show’s ever!

Huge Lee Child fan here. Have all the Reacher books and read them all more than once. As much as I like Tom Cruise, he was not Reacher. Alan Ritchson is why they should have casting oscars.
Yeah he’s excellent. Humorous when it’s needed too.

It’s so much more than that. It was really the one show I’d say was great from start to finish and it ended even better than it began. Now with that said it was only 5 seasons but even then most shows aren’t consistently great for even that long. You should definitely check it out.

I think I will eventually, when the missus is visiting her home country. What about @the AntiPusher suggestion of both series, starting with Better Call Saul then Breaking Bad?

Really? The prequel gives too much away?
It’s takes the same premise of The Godfather movies..The Godfather 2 shows the factors that drove young Vito to become the great crime Boss he became and what happened afterwards. I hope that answers your inquiry my good Sir

I completely agree.

Talking about bad movie/series conversion from books... what they did to Vince Flynn's American Assassin will live in infamy! That was an atrocity! Like the Lee Child books (I've also read all of them) I followed the Mitch Rapp series from the start. Very sad Vince Flynn passed away, there's been a subtle change to the series since his passing, but it's still serviceable... but the film! Ugh!

I love it already! Loved the sopranos!
Mrs Britbox and I have just started a Sopranos rewind. We're currently back on Season 1. It's hard to believe this is close to 30 years old. It"s aged pretty well. The one thing I did notice was the lack of technology - use of landlines etc...

Still, even modern films tend to ignore the phone zombies and the mass surveillance systems. I guess it would ruin the plot if the villains were caught on CCTV in the first 5 minutes of the movie.

I’d consider the Sopranos another show that ended well. I know I’m in the minority but I didn’t hate the final scene. And even if you didn’t like the final scene, the last season was great.

I think the ambiguous ending was perfect, it was often a show where you expected more from the episodes than the names started to come up and it left us wanting more.
