Rune breaks KK again to take the match, with a lovely pass. And a modest little celebration. Has he been a bit humbled of late? Hopefully. Might do his tennis some good.

I lost the second half of the second and the beginning of the third. 4 all. Decent match.

Cerúndolo, in a sense, is the Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde of tennis. His confidence goes from borderline crazy to embarrassingly low in a matter of seconds. Serving at 4x5.

Shelton deservedly wins, but Cerúndolo payed a high price for losing confidence in his forehand. Shelton never took the foot off the gas.

I'm interested to see Rune Alcaraz matchup in the final. It will be a good gauge on Holger's level, win or lose.

I hope it is more competitive than the last time Rune made the final in IW where Draper dismissed him in 2 easy sets 62 62, Rune also played well to get to the final in IW

In the Alcaraz v Fils match, Fils was as flat as a tack, made too many UFE, in his match against Alcaraz.
Alcaraz is looking like one of the early favorites to me to win RG, if he wins Barcelona, he didnt play his best at MC, though like great players he found his way to win, you dont want to peak early for RG, there is still a way to go., I dont take any notice of that BS Masters Madrid tournament, has no bearing at all to me in the clay season.

Zverev will need to win final in Munich and Alcaraz to lose the final in Barcelona to get back to No 2
Zverev up to Race #2 as well after (finally) passing Sinner
Rune will be back in the Top Ten for the first time in a year, back to No 9., after his SF win in Barcelona

Alcaraz is already the favorite for RG, barring major news happening in Madrid or Rome. He is a multiple major winner, plays pretty well on clay, just won MC and is in the final in Barcelona. Does he looks unbeatable? Hell, no. But the rest is faaaaar behind him by now.

It is a bit cherry-picked, but Fils is the only player to reach at least the QF of his last four tournaments, as well as the only player to reach the QF of all three Masters. He stumbled a bit early on, but is overall having a better early season that 2024.

I agree. Barring the unforeseen, with a reasonably good rest of the clay season, he'll be the favorite. Even if Sinner comes back in Rome looking sharp, he'd be second favored, at best. Zverev and Tsitsipas would love to have been coming onto clay making a statement, but they just haven't. And now, with Tsitsipas's back, and the coaching issues. Novak will want to come to Madrid looking strong, but it would be hard to make him top favorite, no matter how good he looks. The Nadal years are over. It's hard to picture having a dominant favorite on clay for some time.

The Munich final is a pretty dull affair. Mostly down to the flat, poor play by Shelton, I think, but neither one is inspiring today. The most exciting thing to happen so far is the woman with enormous breasts, barely covered, who came out to do the coin toss...and I'm a straight woman! That's how boring this match is. :lulz1:
