France has been to the Fed Cup final five times previously with a 2-3 record.France has won the Fed Cup in 1997 and 2003 and most recently made the final in 2016.

Australia has won the Fed Cup seven times,it has been 26 years since Australia reached a Fed Cup final and last time Australia won a Fed Cup final was in 1974 against the USA.

Tomljanovic and Mladenovic just completed their warm up.....very hot day in Perth ,France won the toss and has elected to receive.

France gets the early break with good aggressive play and consolidates the break leads 2-0
Australia finally getting on the board getting one of the breaks of serves back,France (Mladenovic) has been dictating play standing inside the court taking the ball early,her fhand has been on song.
France leads 3-1-------------------France breaks and leads 4-1
One way traffic so far in the 1st set France leads 5-1
In just 38 minutes France wins the 1st set 61 in a great display of tennis.

A break to love for France gets the early break leads 2-0,Mladenovic is in complete control and continues her impressive form of the 1st set.
France with a double break leads 4-0,Australia (Tomljanovic) 1st serve gone AWOL all match and I do not know why she keeps going to the Mladenovic Fhand? Australia's Captain Alicia Molik needs to tell her to stop,too late now I am afraid,France has been in complete control of this match from early in the 1st set,Mladenovic has been in great form.

Barty and Mladenovic warming up on court.Australia won the toss and elected to serve.

France get on the score board a better game from Mladenovic,aggressive,though still having trouble with ball toss.

We are going into a final set.Mladenovic really raised her game in the later stages of the 2nd set,Barty had BPs and could have served for the match,Mladenovic held tough.

France leads 2-1 and to serve.Barty making too many errors on her fhand and not being patient enough,needs to go back to her game plan in the 1st set.

She has experience in Fed Cup,where Tomljanovic has not,also they could be resting Garcia who plays doubles with Kiki in Fed Cup if they may lose the 2nd singles match.If I was Australia captain I would have put Stosur in to play singles today,though she and Ash are playing the doubles? if they get to play the doubles.
