I guess it would depend on what makes it boring for you. Surely Rafa being a heavy favorite squelches your interest. But if you leave Rafa aside, hasn't it been a much more jumbled and unpredictable RG than, say, when the big 4 all made the semis, predictably? You have LL's going past the first round, Zverev dealing with multiple 5-setters, the rise of Marterer and Cecchinato. Goffin v. Monfils today was entertaining. Tsitsipas staking his claim as a comer. JMDP looking like he's back? Is that more boring to you than the predictable 4-6 making the final rounds?
Since he and Nadal have never played, it will be interesting. I think Marterer is a lefty. And he'll have the impetuousness of youth.
I'd argue it was less exciting. Let's face it. Federer fans are mostly bored because Roger isn't playing, and because Rafa is the favorite to win. I still think this tournament has a lot to tell us about the state of men's tennis, though. And even if Rafa does win.
Besides of his youth he hits the ball very strong and of course he will try to play very aggressive and taking a lot of risk which sometimes works well or not, maybe it will be a tough match for Rafa or maybe not
