About Acapulco:

The oldest and best known of Mexico's beach resorts, and located on its west coast, The city is set on a large bay backed by high-rises and the Sierra Madre del Sur mountains. Acapulco once had a cache as a playground of the rich and famous, most notably in the 1950s-60s, hosting Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, Frank Sinatra and Brigitte Bardot, amongst others. It is beautifully situated, and still famous for its nightlife.

Acapulco is relatively close to Mexico city, a mere 3 and a half hours drive. It is situated in a natural bay and very popular for water sports and aquatic activities.

The tournament was introduced to the ATP Tour in 1993, and began on the WTA Tour in 2001. It was played on outdoor red clay courts until 2013. The change to hard courts was introduced in 2014.

We have one finalist:

Dominika Cibulkova (SVK) d Christina Mchale (USA) | 6 - 3 | 6 - 3 |

And Sloane Stevens just beat Yanina Wickmayer 6:2 6:0

So the final will be contested between Dominika and Sloane. Should be interesting.:pompoms:

I'd love to see Sloane get back on track, but I also really like Cibulkova's game. Hope it's a good match, anyway.

Dominika is a set down but 5-4 up in the second and getting dialled in. Hopefully she can tie this up and take us into a decider.

I had to find a feed, as TC is showing a rerun of Baggy/Waw. Just when I thought Sloane was getting too passive, she comes up with good stuff.

They've just had an incredible 14 minute (match within a game) for the 8th game in the decider. Sloane saved numerous break points... Heck of a battle. Now 4-4.
