Since Genie is seeded #2 in this Tournament it must be a weak field because Genie's ranking is #20. Maybe that will help Genie since she certainly can use some on court help! I hope Simona can get healed before Paris.

^ Yes. Genie has been a little social-media obsessed recently. It's amazing how things are different for this generation, so many distractions. Hopefully she doesn't fall off like Sloane and start 'feeling herself' too much.

In any event, I pick Caroline Garcia to go all the way. I like how her play has improved consistently over the past few tourneys and she seems really focused.

Yes, I have some mild interest in this event, as you note Kiu, Genie is playing, and her 1st opponent is one I have seen play too, Barbora Zahlovova Strycova. She was at the ITF tournament in Vancouver that I cover. Eugenie should not have too much trouble with her, but she could cause her a few anxious moments. Eugenie is on a marketing frenzy, huge promo on TSN in Canada pushing the French Open with her in the awareness campaign for the event.

Genie needs to remember she wouldn't be having a "marketing frenzy" or be able to be "social-media obsessed" if it weren't for tennis! However, at least she won her Match today

Caroline in a real battle with Pfizenmaier. Caroline won the 1st set 7-5, Dinah the second 7-5. Exciting match.
