With Muguruza's retirement in Brisbane Caroline will be at least #2 Monday - first time in 6 years. Let's see what happens when Aga has finished her match.

Aga through but her oponent from Brazil is one to watch

If caro wins this, what will be her ranking?

She'll be #2 Monday - whatever happens - because Muguruza lost in Brisbane and had a lot of points to defend. Halep won her match today and will end up with more points than Caroline even if she wins Auckland. But second seeded at AO is a good thing and first time in 6 years I think.

After two more or less sleepless nights in front of the telly - they SAY that the weather should be dry Saturday - FINALLY - after two days of postponing the single matches and playing indoors in doubles. Finals are postponed to Sunday - tournament should've ended Saturday (local time).

Order of play Saturday 6th of January

CENTRE COURT Starting at: 10.00 am
Polona HERCOG (SLO) vs Julia GOERGES (GER) [2] 46 46
Caroline WOZNIACKI (DEN) [1] vs [WC] Sofia KENIN (USA) 46 62 64
Not Before 02.30 pm
Su-Wei HSIEH (TPE) vs Julia GOERGES (GER) [2] 16 46
Caroline WOZNIACKI (DEN) [1] vs [Q] Sachia VICKERY (USA) 64 64

GRANDSTAND Starting at: 10.00 am
Su-Wei HSIEH (TPE) vs Barbora STRYCOVA (CZE) [3] 06 62 62
Agnieszka RADWANSKA (POL) [4] vs [Q] Sachia VICKERY (USA) 26 26

Caroline had a meeting with the ballkids and they put interesting questions and maybe tournaments should do this more often

Karolina Wozniacka has just started against an American teenager Kenin and the start is promising, if you want to watch it.

And Sofia Kenin won the first set. You'd like to watch this match because both play interesting tennis.

Before they called coaches I wasn't aware that the American was actually a Russian. Her coach was giving her instruction in Russian while Karolina's dad instructed her in Polish.

I don't understand why nobody believe when DTJr says he thought Russian was actually American. :lulz2:

Wow, did not Caro lose a zillion times in finals last year, before actually winning a couple.
The same trend continues. Caro was expected to win this, but could not deliver.

Well Game if life was that easy, we would always know the result before the games, and mind me that would be boring. Guess you didn't see the match because if you're not allowed to play your game you can't win. As i write Julia Goerges was flawless today and Caroline had two longer matches yesterday - they both had but Goerges an hour less. So before you say that Caroline SHOULD have won please watch the match and see how good Goerges was and tell me if she's not the dark horse for Australian Open - here is the match:

Looks like I touched a chord. I agree that if all matches go as per seeding, it will be boring. But, with Caro in finals, it seems it is predictable although in a different manner. :lol6:

I did not see the match. Thanks for your highlights. I am going to watch it now. I obviously don't know how difficult the match was.
But, I could not keep quiet when she goes down in straight sets in a final and that too when she is in an upward trajectory after winning WTF.
