This is such a strange Wimbledon year...what is happening! Big applause to Fery.
And Fritz is really struggling against Zverev..

They almost ended simultaneously. Big applause to both Zverev and Fery. They were the best in their matches without a doubt.

To me, the difference is that Novak struggled against FAA, whereas Jannik struggled against Kecmanovic. Novak has been battle tested (not only this year, but throughout the years), while Jannik has basically played a 125 challenger en route to the semis. Just look at all the names Novak has beaten at Wimbledon since 2011.

Unless Novak shows up hurt, I believe he beats Jannik at Wimbledon.
Jannik can take it the level match Novak's consistency and shot making.. @kskate2 what was you assessment of the match.. I am getting the feeling that most of out posters are saying it was the same ole Felix.. I think Felix forced Novak to go to his limits.. Yes Felix could have played smarter on his return of service which is really what cause him. He let Novak off the hook and was only allowed to play his game for the first 3 sets. Felix made some great counters in the 4th and 5th set but the 5th set tbr was a complete brain dump of a disaster

He battled the Great Serbian Slayer for 5 and 1/4 hours.. 5 sets and lost because of one poorly play tbr.. I dont know what else you want him do.. FAA played a classic fantastic match. Richie G could never have came close to that level
Yeah, I'm just not impressed with this sort of thing anymore. I mean, I didn't really expect FAA to win, but taking a 39-year old Novak to five sets for a top 5 player and still losing just doesn't impress me. If this had happened five years ago, sure, I'd be like "Great job, Felix!" But now, when Felix is 25 and Novak 39? It just re-affirms what we already knew: FAA will almost certainly never be more than what he's been, which is a weak 2nd tier type.
